East Grange Team Challenge

East Grange ChallengeEast Grange has staff qualified in both adult teamwork development and youth work. We have a range of “active” and “cerebral” training media: Mobile Team Challenge, “low ropes”, cross country skiing (on snow and summer rollerski) and mountain bike. An extremely popular package is the East Grange Challenge”.

The East Grange Team Challenge is over 3 events, with a Team consisting of (ideally) 4 persons of any mix of male, female, adults or youths. Teams are formed in multiples of 4 and up to 32, although all events can be tuned to suit other needs and numbers. The 3 activities are chosen for their unique “brains-over-brawn” format so that the Challenge offers a truly level playing field. East Grange is the only activity centre that offers Quad biking, Raft-building and Biathlon target shooting in one neat and compact location.

Quad Biking

Familiarisation training is followed by the competition on the obstacle course, where marks are awarded for skill, accuracy, handling and completion of the team task, and deducted for hitting obstacles, failing to complete obstacles and poor driving skills. The session is rounded off with a trek around the countryside.

Raft Challenge

This is NOT whitewater rafting, and there is a good chance you will stay dry….. IF your raft is pondworthy!! The aim is to assemble, launch and race around the course, using a raft built from an assortment of pieces that – if assembled correctly – is reasonably guaranteed to give all 4 passengers a dry passage. The activity is all against the clock, with points for speed of construction, team work and speed around the course.

Biathlon Shooting

Woman shooting biathlonEast Grange Biathlon Centre is fully licensed, safety-certificated and built to International rules. It is the only such facility in the whole of the UK, and offers unique falling-plate competition targets that are exciting and rewarding to hit. The safety briefing, familiarisation and practice are followed by a highly visual shoulder-to-shoulder competition against the clock. “Biathlon” shooting normally includes physical activity to lift the heart rate and mental stress, but this is absolutely optional – on request!

And Finally…

All event scores totalled up decide the final order, although everyone is a winner, having undertaken a superb mix of teamwork, leadership challenges, unusual activities and – of course fun. The instructional staff can deliver the rest of the spectrum of needs, from simple pleasure and fun, all the way through to personal development, corporate training and group team building.
