East Grange Activities for Groups and Corporate Training

SHOOTING FOR FUN, HOSPITALITY AND TEAM CHALLENGE

Teams, Companies, Clubs, Groups of Friends – we will provide everything you need for an excellent session of challenge, entertainment, competition, interest and enjoyment – target rifles, safety equipment, targets (paper scoring or biathlon), range staff, instructors, ammunition, marksmanship equipment, etc. East Grange Biathlon Centre is unique; it is the only UK’s only range built to International Biathlon Union standards that allows all customers to “turn up and play”.

Shooting is the only all-inclusive sport that allows everyone to compete at an Olympic discipline, starting on a fairly level playing field. Thus it is an ideal management-training medium, for all parts of the “corporate” spectrum, from “fun” (and superb fun, too!), all the way through visually exciting competitions and entertainment activities, to executive tasks and challenges. McGill Sport (design consultants for East Grange Biathlon Range) runs short courses using sport as a management training medium; the sport of biathlon shooting provides the ultimate in mind-over-matter performance-under-pressure! As an all-inclusive sport, target shooting always delivers results that can surprise - and even startle – all participants, from the youngest and most junior, to the wisest senior executive.

The complete package is available: hospitality and comfort are provided in the Loft, and meals and evening concert tickets can also be included. A shooting session can be programmed for weekends or weekdays, and either morning, afternoon or evening. For example, 16 persons could spend an entire morning on the range, with shooting and competition tailored precisely to their experience and skill, and concluding with buffet lunch in the loft, from as little as £45 per person. You will not find any other similar venture at this price or value anywhere else in the UK.

Note that although the sport of biathlon means “2 events”, it is not necessary to undertake physical duress to experience the thrill of “biathlon” shooting. On request, however, appropriate sports and movement can be included to spice up the “biathlon mind game”!

A popular fun day out is the East Grange Challenge.

TARGET RIFLE MARKSMANSHIP TESTS or BIATHLON TARGET – THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

Marksmanship shooting – easy to start, but a lifetime to master! Standard target shooting in accordance with the rules of NSRA (National Small-bore Rifle Association), scored on paper discs. Targets are retrieved and scored as part of the overall competition, and preserved for taking away by the participants.

We sometimes call biathlon targets “target rifle clay pigeons”. When introduced to shotgun, beginners can often hit a few clay pigeons, but much depends on beginners luck. In contrast, biathlon targets are initially easier to hit with the accurate biathlon rifle, and thus a lot more fun than shotgun clays. But when the clock starts, and you’re side by side with your opponent, the pressure’s on: if you’re in the zone, you could hit accurately and quickly, but if you don’t have the nerve, you could miss them all! Prone targets vary from 45mm diameter upwards; standing targets are 115mm diameter.
